About

Chicken And Train academy is a private homeschool in the suburbs Ventura County. It focuses on embracing neurodiversity, emotional regulation, and interest-led, child-first education. Due to our 1-to-1, sometimes 2-to-1 teacher/parent-to-student ratio, we are not at capacity to accept any more students.

We know how overwhelming homeschooling can be, so we have created a list to recommend the supports in our educational ecosystem below.

Storytellers is our bespoke content created by artist, homeschooler, and parent Krisztianna. All proceeds from Storytellers by Bring On The Art® directly funds our school, curriculum, content, and student supports like OT, PT, Speech, and Social Emotional Learning.

We are not affiliated with the following supports, but we still recommend them.
We receive no compensation for sharing these resources with you.

IXL Learning is how we keep track of meeting State Standard Education. Though we alter the content for bespoke lessons and learning, IXL Learning is a brilliant resource to keep our educators supported.

Beyond The Toolbox inspires students to become active learners through novel, hands-on projects and activities.

Summerland Beach Rides offers private horseback riding lessons on trails, in an arena, and on the beach. Though not explicitly “therapy” rides, we find them therapeutic and inclusive.

Abbott & Burkhart Therapy offers informed, child-led occupational, physical, and speech language therapies designed to support the individual.

Tri-Counties Regional Center is one of twenty-one non-profit regional centers in California providing diagnosis, lifelong services, and supports in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties for people on the spectrum.
